This beginning weaving course is designed for both the student who is a complete beginner and for those weavers who wish to refresh their warping and weaving skills. We will start with the basics of learning the parts of the loom, preparing the warp, dressing the loom, and operating the floor loom to produce a woven sampler. Participants will learn the “how-to’s” of planning a project, reading a draft, choosing the best materials for the project and how to finish an item.

Class will meet once a week, and students will have access to the weaving studio between classes as well. Projects will include table runners, place-mats, scarves, or rag rugs. Students will have the opportunity to focus on projects of their choosing. Materials and resources will be provided, but if any students have their own materials they wish to work with please bring them. No prior skills are required, but some physical flexibility is needed. Saturdays 1/26-2/23
