The Ozark Folk Center Craft Village Spring Volunteer Cleanup Day celebrates the energy of spring fever and captures the spring cleaning urge. It’s a time to spend working with folks you haven’t seen all winter. Volunteers scrub walls, clean windows, polish wood furniture, pick up trash, and enjoy each other’s company.
Some of the projects are planned, like scrubbing the outside of every window in the village, dusting the school house or planting the garden around some of the craft workshops. Some volunteers run drinks, tools, and messages to other helpers. Musicians who want to practice and warm up their acts after the long winter are welcome to jam on the outdoor stage and add energy to the event.
This is a chance to spend time being part of the Ozark Folk Center State Park family. If you’ve never been to the Ozark Folk Center, this will be a chance to find out what it’s about and share in the start of a great new season. If you are a part of the Folk Center history, see what’s new and catch up on what’s happening this year. Come be a part of the community spirit that the Ozark Folk Center was founded to preserve and perpetuate.
A potluck is scheduled for noon on the outdoor Picnic Pavilion. Bring enough food to share and your own plates and utensils. Volunteers will sign-in and meet in the Administration Building.
