Learn to capture the best with your digital camera by improving your understanding of camera settings, subject selection, composition, use of light and color, camera maintenance, and image storage. Students get one-on-one attention. Instructor Ed Alexander is an accomplished outdoor photographer whose work is in both private and public collections across the U.S.
This workshop is aimed at achieving creative artful photographs through individual one-on-one instruction and hands-on experience, both in the field and in the classroom. Students will be guided through subject selection, composition, and use of light, depth of field, and color to discover and develop their personal styles. The mechanics of digital camera settings, including shutter speeds, f-stops, focus, ISO, white balance and camera maintenance, will be covered, as well as image storage, photo processing and printing through Adobe Photoshop Elements.
Students will receive one 8 x 10 photo print of their work. Students will need a digital camera (NO camera phones, please). Also helpful but not required: a tripod, and a laptop computer with Photoshop. This workshop is open to all levels.
