Natural Edge Wood Turning with Gene Sparling 1

In this three day course students will learn to make natural-edge bowls on the lathe. Natural-edge bowls are each a one of a kind, unique, and attractive project. These bowls will be turned from greenwood (freshly cut) and students will be guided through the process from creating a turning blank, how to obtain different natural edge forms from a log, and all the way through to curing and finishing a piece. Students who have greenwood they would like to use may bring it (it must be hardwood, no pine or cedar, and measure at least 12 inches in diameter and height). Wood will also be provided at the time of the class.

This is an intermediate level class and requires some basic experience with wood turning.
