    The Art & Science of Glass (Sculptures) @ Arkansas Craft School
    Apr 6 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

    In this workshop with glass artist Raymond Bowers of Dever, CO, students will learn how to sculpt glass faces. This class will focus on human and anatomical sculptural glass work. With an overview of his signature design and creative processes. Raymond aims for each student to refine their ability to add life and emotion to glass sculptures.


    For safety purposes, no tank tops or open-toed shoes in the glass studio, please.

    Join instructor Blair Tinkle for another season of our popular “After-School Arts” on Thursdays from 3:30-5pm. This class will run every Thursday starting January 16 through May 28, 2020. Each month, students will be introduced to a new art modality, theory, or way of creating.


    Students will often have completed projects by the end of the class. Some projects may take a few classes to finish. Students will find their artistic skills, confidence, and interests building from one week to the next in this playful, creative, arts and craft class.


    Come have fun creating with us After School on Thursdays!


    This class is for students aged 7 and up.




    • $15 per individual class
    • $50 for 5 classes
    • $80 for 10 classes
    • $150 for all-access to young artist classes through May 2020


    Gospel Open Mic / Yesterdaz Variety

    The Mountain View Senior Center will have performances every Thursday night from 6 pm until 9pm. The first Thursday of every month will be Gospel Open Mic and every other Thursday will be ‘Yesterdaz Variety Band’. Free admission, pass the basket.

    Carving a Cowboy Boot @ Arkansas Craft School
    Apr 11 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

    In this 1 day beginner’s wood carving workshop, students will learn to carve a wooden cowboy boot from basswood using a knife & carving tools. Learn about grain directions, carving safety, and making different types of cuts.


    The instructor will provide a wealth of knowledge, as well as wooden blanks, safety gloves, knives, and tools.


    Suitable for ages 16 and up (unless accompanied by an adult).


    Exploring Charcoal @ Arkansas Craft School
    Apr 11 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

    Materials and techniques for creating bold and dramatic or soft 3-dimensional charcoal drawings will be taught in this one day workshop with artist Marcia Wallace. Vine charcoal offers a forgiving softness in capturing light and shadow while compressed charcoal’s rich blackness demands attention.


    Learn techniques for applying and combining these traditional drawing materials. Suitable for beginners to intermediate level students.

    Materials fee: $5 or BYO Materials
